Growth doesn’t always look like doing more — sometimes it looks like becoming more aligned with what matters most.
Over the past few months, we’ve taken time to reflect on where we’ve been and where we feel called to go. As a result, you may notice a few changes — including a refreshed logo and a clearer focus on the heart of our mission.
While some things may look different, what hasn’t changed is why we exist: to walk alongside women with compassion, support, and real, tangible resources during some of life’s most vulnerable moments.
What’s New?
Our Logo Refresh
You may notice something a little different — we’ve simplified our name and branding.
We’ve intentionally removed the words “Adoption” and “Foundation” from our logo.
Not because those pieces no longer matter — but because our work has grown beyond any single label.
Why the change?
To remove barriers or assumptions that may prevent a mother from reaching out
To better reflect the full scope of what we do
To create space for a more mother-centered, relationship-first approach
Adoption is still part of our story — but it is not our starting point.
Many of the journeys we walk alongside are not simple. They are layered, emotional, and deeply personal. Sometimes, love and loss exist at the same time.
Our role is not to define that experience — but to hold space for it, and to walk with each woman through whatever path she chooses.
This shift simply allows our outward identity to better reflect that heart.
Our Mission: simplified
We exist to walk alongside women with compassion, support, and practical resources — meeting them where they are and helping them move forward with confidence.
Our Focus
Meeting Moms Where They Are
Many organizations serve families well — but there are still moments where support falls through the cracks.
That’s where we step in.
We are intentionally building a model that:
Prioritizes relationship over process
Offers ongoing, practical support
Focuses on long-term stability, not just immediate decisions
We’re not here for one moment — we’re here for the journey.
What’s Ahead?
We are thrilled to announce our first Community Baby Shower of 2026!
Safe Harbor Baptist Church | Georgetown, Kentucky Saturday, April 18 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
We are actively preparing for this event — connecting with local vendors, gathering donations, and thoughtfully planning an experience that truly supports the families we serve.
You can expect to see several familiar faces from past events, including trusted community partners such as local pregnancy resource organizations, healthcare and maternal support professionals, and other outreach groups who provide meaningful resources for moms.
As we build toward this event, one of the most impactful ways to support is by helping us fill these spaces with essential items for the families who attend.
We are exploring a new initiative that allows families to:
Exchange gently used toys
Reduce financial strain
Create a more community-driven resource model
More details coming SOON!
From The Blog
We’re continuing to share more of the heart behind what we do — offering insight, encouragement, and a deeper understanding of the experiences many women face.
One of our recent posts explores something that isn’t talked about enough — the reality that in adoption, love and loss can exist at the same time.
At Unexpected Blessings, we believe it’s important to acknowledge both — to create space for joy, grief, and everything in between, without pressure or expectation.
There are so many meaningful ways to be part of what we’re building:
Volunteer
Help with events, organization, or behind-the-scenes support
Donate
Baby essentials, diaper bag items, and gently used gear are always needed
Partner With Us
We are building relationships with businesses, churches, and community organizations
*As we continue planning future events, we are also exploring opportunities to bring in guest speakers who align with our mission and heart.
If you know of someone who would be a great fit, we would love to connect.
Blessing Jar
One of UBAF’s most simple, yet impactful fundraisers is our Blessing Jar Fundraiser, which takes place each year from Mother’s Day to Father’s Day.
These contributions help fund essential programs at UBAF, empowering mothers through resources and opportunities that foster growth and support within the community.
